Sudhanshu Pandey aka Vanraj Shah was an integral part of Rupali Ganguly's show Anupamaa. However, he marked his sudden exit from the show and shocked all. Vanraj was the villain in Anupamaa's life who created chaos and trouble. He was Rupali Ganguly's husband, however, she divorced him as he had an extramarital affair with Kavya. Even when Anu got married to Anuj Kapadia, Vanraj Shah continued to cause trouble. Now, in a latest interview, Sudhanshu Pandey has spoken about touching 'dark spaces' when portraying the character of Vanraj and how it had an impact on him.
Why did Sudhanshu Pandey need medication?
In a recent interview with entertainment news portal Bollywood Bubble, Sudhanshu Pandey who was recently seen in The Traitors, spoke about how the character of Vanraj took a toll on him and affected him deeply. While drawing parallels to Hollywood star Dustin Hoffman who had to go to rehab post certain roles, Sudhanshu Pandey stated that he is a very balanced person and knows that he can come back from dark space. However, there have been times when he has gotten affected. Recalling times on sets of Anupamaa, the actor stated he said, "I've touched on dark spaces, and it's hit me very hard. It's taken a toll on me, too. You know, I've even had to take medication for pain and aches sometimes, because I've gone so deeply into the character. But that's just how I am as an actor." Sudhanshu Pandey said that he likes to give his 100% to whichever role he takes.

While stars like Karan Kundrra who have major experience in reality shows got eliminated in first few days of The Traitors, Sudhanshu Pandey remained in the show till the very end. He was among the top five of Karan Johar's show. He was an innocent who managed to remain safe till the very end. However, he did not win the show. Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther took home the trophy and the prize money. However, Sudhanshu Pandey remained in news for the comments he made on other contestants of the show.
