Something in the Rain to Kill Me, Heal Me; TOP 10 romantic Korean dramas to watch with your lovers

Mahavatar Narsimha, an animated mythological movie directed by Ashwin Kumar, did surprisingly well at the box office on its second Friday. The movie has been doing quite well even though it is a fully animated flick with a root in ancient Indian mythology, a genre that is rarely accepted by the mass. The movie opened with Rs 1.75 crore on its first Friday. The film had a fantastic weekend, grossing Rs 4.6 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.5 crore on Sunday. On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda, Satyadev, Venkatesh, and Bhagyashri Borse starrer action-packed thriller Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, maintains a steady box office performance having been released on July 31. The film collected Rs 17 crore net on its opening day.

Having said that, let us look at the box office collections of both the movies and find out which is doing comparably well at the box office.

Mahavatar Narsimha vs Kingdom box office collection

Early estimates from Sacnilk indicate that on its 8th day (second Friday), Mahavatar Narsimha brought in around Rs 7.50 crore in India net, bringing its total revenue to an astounding Rs 51.75 crore. Since then, the movie has consistently performed well. On the other hand Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom earned approx. Rs 11.21 crore on its first Friday. Even if collections have somewhat decreased, there is still good momentum going into the weekend.

However, the film's actual box office status is being questioned when the production team claimed a substantially larger opening day gross of Rs 39 crore. With Saturday and Sunday yet to go, the movie has a chance to bounce back and, depending on how many people show up, possibly surpass important milestones.

Mahavatar Narsimha vs Kingdom theatre occupancy

On Friday, August 1, Mahavatar Narsimha's Telugu occupancy rate was 42.03% overall, with night performances peaking at 72.52%. The total occupancy rate for the Hindi version of the film was 30.20%, with night shows accounting for 53.20%. Meanwhile, nationwide Kingdom reported an occupancy rate of around 36.24% on Friday.

In terms of regional performance, Telugu-speaking areas continued to have a strong presence for Kingdom. The movie had an overall Telugu occupancy rate of 42.56% on Friday, August 1. Attendance at morning screenings was 27.39%, and it grew progressively throughout the day, reaching 38.12% for afternoon screenings, 43.21% for evening screenings, and 61.50% for night screenings.
